Young Voices in Heritage™

Digital Storytelling Methodology in Action

Young people recording heritage interviews as part of Young Voices in Heritage initiative

Our Innovative Approach

Young Voices in Heritage™ demonstrates our proven digital storytelling methodology. Developed since November 2024, this systematic approach creates measurable confidence development whilst building professional media skills.

This methodology facilitates a fun, informal learning environment that supports intergenerational conversations. The methodology adapts seamlessly across multiple content areas - creating a space where creative media approaches bring community projects to life with integrity.

How Our Methodology Works

4-Block Progressive Structure:

  • Blocks 1-3: Confidence building through structured skill development in supported environments

  • Block 4: Real-world application where participants choose their documentation focus

Trauma-Informed Practice: Our approach creates safe spaces for all participants, including those with additional needs or challenging backgrounds. We maintain professional boundaries whilst building genuine confidence through achievable progression milestones.

Professional Media Production: Participants work with broadcast-quality equipment to create content they're genuinely proud to share. This isn't amateur documentation - it's professional-standard media creation that demonstrates real transferable skills.

Professional recognition from Museum of London Archaeology validates our evidence-based approach, with participants' work featured on their professional blog. Read Our Success Story

The ACE Team Success Story

Since November 2024, our ACE Team has demonstrated the methodology's effectiveness:

  • Measurable confidence development from tentative beginners to confident content creators

  • Professional recognition of their achievements

  • Clear progression pathway with one participant already advancing to volunteer contributor role

Beyond Heritage: Methodology Applications

Community Engagement Projects:

  • Council communications and resident consultation

  • Healthcare patient story documentation

  • Charity impact storytelling and donor engagement

  • Corporate social responsibility content creation

We are the originators of Young Voices in Heritage™ - our innovative approach combining audio art skills with heritage documentation.

We create meaningful pathways from participant to volunteer to employment, whilst preserving local heritage through young voices.

Developed by Ace Holds The Space Group

Young Voices in Heritage™ follows our unique three-stage methodology. Participants begin with audio art skills, progress to podcasting and digital storytelling, then apply their abilities in real-world field experiences with heritage organisations.

Our approach has attracted attention from local heritage-based organisations and public services, with enquiries coming in based on the outcomes from our preliminary sessions.

“The young people were the crucial key component that made the event so interesting.”
